02. oilless compressor placement and design
For the installation of compressed air equipment with long pipes, the distribution system wiring shall be carried out. The compressed air equipment is installed near the auxiliary equipment such as pump and fan, which is convenient for repair and maintenance; The location of the boiler room is also a good choice. The building shall be equipped with lifting equipment whose size shall be used to handle the heaviest parts (usually motors) in the installation of compressor and forklift can be used. It should also have enough floor space to install additional compressors for future expansion. In addition, the clearance height must be sufficient to suspend the motor or similar equipment when necessary. The compressed air equipment shall have floor drain or other facilities to handle condensate from single stage compressor, aftercooler, air storage tank, dryer, etc. The installation of floor drain must comply with municipal regulations.
03. Infrastructure of the room
Generally, only a flat floor with sufficient bearing capacity is required to place the compressor equipment. In most cases, the equipment is integrated with shockproof function. For the installation of new projects, each compressor unit usually uses a base to clean the floor. Large piston machines and centrifuges may require concrete slab foundations anchored to bedrock or solid soil foundations. For advanced and complete compressor equipment, the impact of external vibration has been minimized. In the system with centrifugal compressor, it may be necessary to suppress the vibration of the foundation of the compressor room.
04. Air Intake
The inlet air of the compressor must be clean and free from solid and gas pollution. Dust particles and corrosive gases that cause wear are particularly destructive. The air inlet of the compressor is usually located at the opening of the noise reduction housing, but it can also be remotely placed in the place where the air is as clean as possible. If the gas polluted by automobile exhaust is mixed with the air to be inhaled, it may cause serious consequences. The pre-filter (cyclone separator, panel type or rotary belt type filter) shall be used for devices with high dust concentration in the surrounding air.
In this case, the pressure drop caused by the prefilter must be considered in the design process. It is also beneficial to keep the air inlet at low temperature. It is appropriate to transfer this air from the outside of the building to the compressor through a separate pipe. It is important to use corrosion-resistant pipes with a mesh at the inlet, which greatly reduces the risk of snow or rain being sucked into the compressor. It is also important to use pipes with sufficient diameter to obtain the lowest possible pressure drop. The design of the intake pipe of piston compressor is particularly important. The pipeline resonance caused by the acoustic standing wave caused by the cyclic pulsation frequency of the compressor will damage the pipeline and the compressor, and affect the surrounding environment through irritating low-frequency noise.
