Functions and troubleshooting of various components of screw air compressor

There are 6 problems with oil in the exhaust of the air compressor, which can be solved in minutes!

Air compressor exhaust oil fault

Among compressor faults, exhaust oil fault is the most common, and the main factors causing exhaust oil fault include:

1. Damaged of oil and gas separator

During the operation of the air compressor, if  oil and gas separator is damaged, such as damaged or perforated, it loses its function of oil gas separation. In other words, if the mixed gas and the exhaust pipe of the compressor are directly connected, a large amount of cooling oil will not be separated, and will be discharged from the body together with the gas, resulting in an oil bearing fault during the exhaust process.

2. Faulty return line

During the working process of a screw air compressor, the oil return pipeline bears an important responsibility. There will be a pressure difference between the inside of the oil separation core and the compressor inlet. Under the effect of this pressure difference, the oil return pipeline is responsible for transporting the oil gathered at the bottom of the oil separation core back to the compressor for continued use in the next cycle. If there are faults such as blockage, fracture, and incorrect installation in the return oil path, the oil accumulated at the bottom of the oil separation core cannot be transported back to the compressor, resulting in excessive oil accumulation at the bottom. This part of the oil that has not been transported back to the compressors will be discharged along with the gas, resulting in oil entrainment during the exhaust process.

3. low System pressure control

During operation, if the system pressure is controlled too low, the centrifugal force in the separator will be less than the required centrifugal force, and the effect of the separator will not be fully reflected. This will cause the oil content of the gas entering the next stage of the separator core to be too high, which exceeds its separation range, leading to incomplete oil gas separation and oil entrainment failure during the compressor screw exhaust process.

4. Minimum pressure valve failure

The function of the minimum pressure valve is to ensure that the system pressure is controlled above the minimum pressure during operation. If the minimum pressure valve fails, the minimum pressure of the system cannot be guaranteed. Due to the high air consumption of the equipment, the system pressure will be too low and the oil return pipeline cannot return oil. The oil accumulated at the bottom of the oil separator core cannot be returned to the compressor, and will be discharged from the compressor along with the compressed gas, resulting in an oil entrainment fault during the flat exhaust process.

5. Excessive cooling oil added to the compressor

Before the compressor is operated, too much cooling oil is added, which exceeds the range of the compressor. During the operation of the compressor, due to the high oil level, although the separation system separates the oil and gas, during the discharge of the gas, the gas will also draw the cooling oil into the gas and discharge it, resulting in a high oil content in the discharged gas, resulting in an oil bearing fault.

6. Cooling oil quality is unqualified

Before the compressor is operated, unqualified cooling oil is added or the cooling oil exceeds the applicable time, and the cooling effect cannot be achieved. During the operation of a screw compressor, the cooling oil loses its function and cannot cool and separate the oil and gas. Then there must be an oil fault during the exhaust process.
