There are 6 problems with oil in the exhaust of the air compressor, which can be solved in minutes!(2)

Troubleshooting Steps

When oil is found in the exhaust gas of the direct drive ac compressor, it is not necessary to disassemble the equipment blindly. Instead, analyze the above causes and follow the steps from easy to difficult to determine the location of the fault. This can reduce a lot of repair time and manpower.

When the compressor starts normally and the system reaches the rated pressure, slowly open the exhaust gate valve with a minimum opening to allow a small amount of gas to be discharged. At this time, use a dry paper towel to face the discharged air flow. If the paper towel immediately changes color and there are oil droplets, it can be determined that the oil in compressor exhaust exceeds the standard. According to the amount of oil contained in the exhaust gas and different periods of time, the location of the fault can be correctly judged.

When the opening of the exhaust gate valve is increased, it is found that the exhaust gas flow is in an uninterrupted dense fog shape, indicating that the oil content of the gas flow is large. Then, check the oil return condition of the oil return tube observation mirror. If the return oil from the oil return tube sight glass increases significantly, it is generally due to a damaged separator core or excessive addition of cooling oil to the separator; If there is no oil return from the oil return tube sight glass, it is generally a broken or blocked oil return tube.

When the opening of the exhaust gate valve is increased, it is found that the front section of the exhaust gas flow is in a dense fog shape, and after a period of time, it returns to normal; Continue to increase the opening of the exhaust gate valve and open all exhaust valves. At this time, observe the system pressure gauge. If the displayed pressure on the pressure gauge is lower than the set pressure of the minimum pressure valve, the exhaust valve continues to exhaust and the air flow is in an uninterrupted dense fog. When this phenomenon occurs, the fault is usually the failure of the minimum pressure valve.

After normal shutdown, the automatic vent valve is vented. If there is a large amount of oil in the exhaust, it indicates that the automatic vent valve is damaged.
